Mobius Director of Development
Mobius Spokane is looking for a talented, creative individual to help lead the development effort for the organization. Mobius Spokane consists of two individual facilities, Mobius Children’s Museum and Mobius Science Center. The Director of Development currently answers to the CEO and is part of the leadership team for the organization. The Director of Development is responsible for planning and coordinating all fundraising efforts for the organization. This includes memberships, annual fundraising events, the annual campaign, grant research and writing, event sponsorships, donor cultivation and record keeping, and working with the CEO and the rest of the team to create a stable and easily manageable fundraising portfolio. The perfect candidate will be flexible, innovative, and willing to be part of a team dedicated to the mission and vision of Mobius. This position is responsible for building relationships and communicating with individual donors, foundation program officers, and Board/Committee members. This position will be the staff leader for the Board Development Committee and will act as liaison between the committee and the staff.
The perfect candidate should have knowledge of current “best practices” of the museum and science center field, but will have the opportunity to think outside the box. This position will help build a new and sustainable organization that reflects the community of Spokane and the Inland Northwest Region, a community in transition. The perfect candidate will also help enlist and train the entire staff to be part of the development process, through customer service, being positive spokespeople for the organization and by being available to work with donors and potential donors as needed. The perfect candidate should be self guided and motivated, but also be comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment, and be comfortable taking the time to be out with our audiences to stay in touch with the communities we serve. This position will be asked to be part of the creative process as well, in looking at new ways to reach our audience, and how to leverage our mission to gather the support for these audiences. This position will also be asked to be one of the public faces of Mobius Spokane, and be an ambassador in the community.
